Ellis visits, Zoe is 6 months old now

Ellis called on Monday and said, "I'm nervous about the future." He wouldn't elaborate but I took it to mean our court date in December for child support. He said he was doing his second paternity test on Wednesday 10/24/07, the day she turns 6 months old. I asked he wanted to come see her and he did, so we agreed he's come over around 4:30pm and go out to dinner.

He smiled as soon as he saw her and that grin was on his face most of the night, he left at 11pm. This was the first time he's been out in public with us and he seemed pleased when people said how cute she was. Vega called later and said when I was in the bathroom that he was staring at her and being adoring, that is good news. She laughed a lot grabbed his face with her drooly hands. He was grossed out at first but I suggested he just let her grab his face anyway, and at the end of the night, he finally acquiesced. He hadn't seen her since she was three months old and so he was fascinated by her. He just stared at her and held her a lot, it was cute. I showed him how she can roll over on her tummy now and was totally surprised when he got down on the floor to be next with us while she played. Shocking!

I did manage to get in several digs about his demand for a second paternity test, but he just made a face and was a mute, as usual when I brought up anything he didn't want to talk about. There was no talk about when we'd see each other again, but I think he fell in love with Zoe during that visit.

Our 2nd DNA test (a waste of time) is on Wednesday

Joy. I called Ellis on Saturday night. He called me back on Sunday evening. I told Ellis that his lawyer mailed a packet to him, to my address! I'm sure it was the same packet I got from the child support office, telling us that our court date would be in mid December. He should get his packet in the mail soon. I asked why that happened and Ellis said he didn't know, that his lawyer has his address. Strange. I asked how he was, he's working all the time, as usual. Of course he didn't ask how Zoe and I are doing. So typical.

My first day back at work was on the 15th. It was hard to leave Zoe but I knew she was in great hands since she was with her Grandma. Mom got her an ugly, organic cotton doll which she loves. I named it Mary (mom's first name). Zoe kept laughing at it and cuddling with Mary, it was very cute.

Zoe's first two teeth are coming in!

She's been extra fussy lately (she's usually pretty mellow), when I got home tonight, I learned why.

I saw two little white caps on the bottom, middle of her mouth. I thought I saw this the other day, but I felt it tonight and it's making her miserable. According to babycenter.com she's 5.5 months old, but her birthday is on the 24th of each month. She's growing up so quickly.

It's so exciting, but poor baby!!
