Ellis visits / biopsy on August 15th / birth class reunion

We saw Ellis on Friday - I asked him to come down to the child support office and they served him. The child support amount they came up with is the same that we came up with a long time ago. Shocking. The bad news is I believed Ellis when he said he'd pay me and he never did, so I didn't open the file against him in time and now the child support starts on July 1st, which sucks. I thought they did retro-active pay back to her birthday, but no. They changed the law so that men don't walk into a ton of debt (oh wah! but it's ok for the moms to be in debt - how unfair)!!! So the child support in SF starts one month after I first filed paperwork which means I'm not getting two months worth of child support. I'm pissed.

On Sunday my dad and Andrew came over for a short visit. Ellis called and said, "It looks like you have company." I said, "Yes, they'll leave when you come up." His response, "No, I'm not coming up the stairs until they are gone."

What planet is he from? So Andrew and Dad left because Ellis can't be bothered to say hello. I found out after that dad drove by, rolled down his window to tell Ellis he was leaving, and Ellis didn't even roll down his window, he just waved at my dad. How rude!

Ellis told me he thinks I'm a "super mom." He said, "I knew you'd be a good mom, but...wow." That was nice to hear. He also asked to hold Zoe for the first time, but she just cried because he needs a lot more practice. I asked him if he was going to move in (since I still don't have a roommate) and I think he should live with his daughter, but he hasn't decided. She's 3.5 months old now, come on! I'm running out of patience and understanding. So, I again repeated what I've told him in the past: he's always welcome to see Zoe, but until he can pay some back child support, I can't see him. I said my mom would be happy to facilitate the visit.

Last week, my insurance finally approved my biopsy. I was told I couldn't get an appointment until August 22nd. I bitched and moaned until they told me they could see me on August 15th. I just keep repeating the words of my doctor in my head, "Well, this lump doesn't feel like cancer."

We had a birth class reunion. Zoe is one of three girls and there is one boy. They were all very adorable together! Zoe is drooling up a storm these days and is obsessed with staring at her hands, which is all normal for her age.
