My roommate, Mike just moved out, and I hate looking for roommates, so I asked him if he wanted to move back in (Ellis used to be my roommate. We started dating right before he moved out). He was silent (that's why we call him the mute), so I take it that is a no. Yeah, it's hard to move from the hood, to the Marina, back to the hood...but Zoe's worth it. Since Ellis is a mute, and I have a big mouth, maybe Zoe will actually have normal communication skills. I hope.
I think they had some good bonding last night. Zoe just really stared at him a lot, it was so cute. Ellis moved his head and thought she wasn't really looking at him, but she moved her eyes after a second to follow him. He did this test a few times and I think he was pleased when he realized she really was focusing on him. He has really big hands and one hand can cover her entire back. She was cuddled on his chest, in the fetal position, for part of the night. He was giving her a back rub. He asked, "How can she be comfortable like that?" I pointed out she's spent most of her life (in me) in that positron. "She looks like a frog with her legs like that...." It was funny. I asked him to call me when he wants to visit us next time, hopefully it will be soon.
On Sunday mom showed Zoe one of her rattles that she's been playing with in front of her face a lot. Zoe smiled. I introduced a new rattle, and she stared blankly. Next I showed the first rattle, and she smiled again. Like Ellis with his eye contact test, I did the rattle test, and every time I showed the original rattle, she smiled, so cool.
